While it has been somewhat uncomfortably hot for many people, the gardens with proper irrigation have come into full color with the warmth.  Look for hollyhcoks and you can see why they are such a source of inspiration for many Santa Fe garden painters.  Another of my favorite plants at this time of years are the hardy shasta daisys; they just bloom and bloom with very litte maintenance except deadheading.  And wow, I have seen some stunning daylillies pop out withing the past week.
